Goods-In - Best Practices

Goods-In - Best Practices

Overview

In this guide, we will cover our Goods-In Gold Practice Standards, which will ensure efficient and accurate handling of your goods, when these are received.

Goods-In  Gold Standards

1. Goods must be barcoded at Unit, Inner and Case Level
  1. This is important because all of our stock movement is controlled via hand-held scanners and cannot be moved through our warehouse system without these barcodes. If goods are received, and are not barcoded, we can do this for you however this will incur additional costs and will result in delays.
2. Goods should be loaded onto pallets
  1. The pallets should be UK Standard for the UK Warehouse (for more information on UK pallet standards, please click here) and EUR pallets (for more information on EUR pallet standards, please click here)  for our NL Warehouse
  2. Ensuring that the goods are loaded on to the correct pallets will prevent your goods from being re-palletised on arrival, saving you pallet purchase and pallet creation fees
  3. Goods can be placed on top of loaded pallets to ensure space efficiency, but these will be built into pallets
3. Goods should arrive on pallets under 1.5 metres high and under 500kg in weight
  1. Loose goods can be placed on top of pallets and will be consolidated upon arrival
4. Goods should be single SKU per pallet, where possible
  1. Storage of goods is in single SKU locations and therefore where pallets are not single SKU, pallets will be created
When goods are sent in alignment with our Gold Standards, set out above, this will mean that when these are received, they will be booked in on the same day an you will only be charged for stock accuracy.
